Note
----
The figures for Armour (Arm) and Heatsinks have simply been
derived by counting the little rectangular indicators from the
game`s Mech selection screen.

Note
----
Damage figures for Auto cannons and missiles assume that the salvo
has a 100% hit rate. In addition, the Damage and Heat figures
were obtained through a helpful Battletech fan (Jon "Gauss Bear"
Ivars), and may differ somewhat from the figures used by the game
engine. As yet Activision have been unable to supply the actual
figures.
This Range business
-------------------
The Ranges quoted are not a lot of use if you don't know the scale that
your radar is working on. Therefore, as far as I've been able to discern,
the range from your position, at the centre of the radar circle to the
small green bar at 12'o'clock are:
Fully Zoomed out, (no Mag.) 500 metres
Fully Zoomed in, (full Mag.) 2000 metres
As you probably guessed, I worked this out by checking the weapon ranges
against when an enemy Mech causes the targeting reticle to turn red,
ie, when it comes into range.
Targeting reticle
-----------------
Green: Inactive or targeted Mech out of range and/or off target.
Red: Targeted Mech in range and on Target.
Orange: Weapon Recycling or Acquiring target
Targeting brackets
------------------
Green targeting brackets indicate a "friendly" target; blue indicates a
"Primary" or "Mission" objective (HPG Uplink that you have to destroy,
etc.); red means an enemy.
Undocumented features
---------------------
You'll have probably sorted some of these out yourself, but here they are
anyway, thanks go to Alvin on the alt.games.video.sony-playstation group.
RAPID FIRE, ALL WEAPONS!!
Hold down both the "Fire" and "Select Weapon" buttons and watch that enemy
Mech's armour fly..... an eye on yourown Mech's temperature wouldn't hurt
either.
GLANCE
Swiftly tap and then hold the "Rotate Torso" button to enable you to
"glance" to the side without actually rotating, or further rotating your
torso.
TARGET CLOSEST ENEMY
Double tap the "Target" button to highlight the closest target. By
default, tapping once will highlight the target closest to the center of
the screen. If there are no targets on screen the computer will then target
the closest enemy
ZOOM OUT
Zoomed in and can't get back out? Quickly tap the "Zoom" button!
The Codes
---------
Game codes, or cheats, are a controversial subject, but in MW2's case I
think some of them should have been standard features in the game,
without having to fiddle around with the joypad and wondering whether or
not you're cheating....Oh well. Here is the full game code list, I'd like
to tell you where it came from, but then I'd have to kill you... ;)
##XO/A)(UZ INVINCIBILITY

And there you have it. Do with this document what you will, but if you're
going to distribute it, I'd appreciate it if you kept in one piece.
Thank you Activision for a very good game, and not just a port. Hopefully,
it is now clearer that console owners are not afraid of depth.
